The 12-day spiritual celebration of Saraswati Pushkaralu, held from May 15 to 26, concluded today (Monday) with an overwhelming turnout of devotees at Kaleshwaram. Being the final day and coinciding with Monday, thousands of pilgrims thronged the ghats for a holy dip at the Triveni Sangham, continuing the momentum from the previous day, when over 3.5 lakh devotees took the sacred bath.
Pilgrims began arriving at the ghats from the early hours of the morning, with peak crowd activity observed between 7:46 AM and 9:16 AM, coinciding with the auspicious Pushkara Snanam Muhurtham.
Following the sacred bath, devotees visited the revered Sri Kaleshwara Mukteshwara Swamy Temple and the Maha Saraswati Devi Temple to offer prayers. Throughout the day, a series of spiritual and cultural programs were conducted, including Ved Swasthi, Pravachanam by Brahmasri Madugula Nagaphani Sharma, a drone show, and the visually stunning Navaratnamala Harathi, marking the grand culmination of the Pushkaralu.
The final day also saw significant traffic congestion due to the massive influx of devotees. Despite this, officials ensured smooth conduct of all activities under the supervision of the local administration and spiritual leaders. Adequate arrangements were made for crowd control, drinking water, medical aid, and sanitation at all ghats.
Adding to the spiritual significance of the day, Telangana Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao, along with his spouse, and Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj, with his spouse, visited Saraswati Ghat, where they took the holy dip and participated in temple rituals conducted by priests.
Telangana government officials say the successful completion of the Saraswati Pushkaralu 2024 is a testament to the seamless coordination between authorities, devotees and religious leaders, offering a deeply spiritual and memorable experience to lakhs of pilgrims.
