In a disturbing incident that has triggered widespread outrage, a teacher from Bandapalli Girls Tribal Ashram School in Meliyaputti Mandal, Srikakulam district, was caught on video making her students massage her legs while she casually spoke on her cellphone. The shocking visuals, secretly recorded by someone present at the scene, have gone viral on social media, drawing severe criticism from parents and the public alike.

The video shows the teacher, identified as Sujatha, seated comfortably on a chair while two young girl students kneel beside her, massaging her legs. The act, which took place inside the classroom, was reportedly filmed discreetly and later circulated online, exposing a blatant abuse of authority and insensitivity toward tribal students entrusted to her care.

Following the social media uproar, parents and community members condemned the teacher’s behaviour, questioning how such conduct could occur in a school meant to uplift and educate underprivileged children. Several voices on social media echoed anger, calling for strict disciplinary action.

Senior officials swiftly intervened after the video gained traction online. The Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) Project Officer of Seethampeta issued suspension orders against teacher Sujatha, pending a full-fledged inquiry. Officials confirmed that a show-cause notice had also been served, and a departmental investigation has been initiated to determine further action.

Education and tribal welfare authorities have emphasized the need for stricter monitoring of residential schools, particularly in remote tribal belts, where such abuses often go unnoticed. As outrage spreads across the state, the Bandapalli case stands as a grim reminder of the urgent need for reform, vigilance, and ethical responsibility in the classroom, where teachers are meant to inspire, not humiliate, their students.
