Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials recently arrested two separate groups involved in bribery, highlighting ongoing vigilance against corruption in the state. In the first case, Barpati Krishna, Panchayat Secretary of Ganugabanda Village in Thungathurthy Mandal, Suryapet District, was caught demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 6,000 from a complainant. The bribe was sought in exchange for allotting a house number to a newly constructed residence, a routine administrative task that was improperly monetized.
In the second case, Kumba Jagan Mohan, Assistant Manager (Accounts) and Incharge District Manager of the State Civil Supplies Corporation Limited, Wanaparthy, along with private driver Laudya Laxman Naik, were apprehended for accepting a bribe of Rs. 50,000. The money was demanded to facilitate the allocation of government CMR paddy to a complainant’s rice mill in Wanaparthy District, violating official procedures and exploiting public resources.
The Telangana ACB has urged citizens to report any demand for bribes by public servants. Complaints can be made via the toll-free number 1064, WhatsApp (9440446106), Facebook page Telangana ACB, or the official website http://acb.telangana.gov.in.
