The Minister for Industries & IT Duddilla Sridhar Babu has reiterated the Telangana Government’s commitment to transforming the state into a trillion-dollar economy by 2035. Highlighting Telangana’s strong industrial growth, the Minister noted that the state’s secondary sector recorded a remarkable 9.6% growth in FY 2023–24-outpacing the national average of 8.3%.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Malabar Gems and Jewellery Manufacturing Unit at Maheshwaram Industrial Park, Sridhar Babu said the manufacturing sector alone contributed Rs 1.46 lakh crore to the GVA, with a growth rate of 9%, and now accounts for 19.5% of the GSDP-well above the national average. Manufacturing exports crossed Rs 1.2 lakh crore, reflecting Telangana’s global competitiveness.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the government’s industry-first approach is paying rich dividends. "Before building industries, we build the ecosystem that sustains them," Sridhar Babu emphasized. He announced upcoming sector-specific initiatives including an Electronics Cluster near Hyderabad, a Jewellery Manufacturing Zone in Maheshwaram, and an EV & Defence Hub in Zaheerabad.

He also highlighted the expansion of the TG-iPASS system, which has cleared over 4,200 units-98% within 15 days. The system is now being enhanced with AI for even faster, transparent clearances. The Minister shared that a New Industrial Policy 2025 is being co-created with industry leaders to prioritize clean manufacturing, women entrepreneurs, and digital governance.

Inviting global investors, Sridhar Babu assured full government support and urged companies like Malabar to collaborate in skill development and consider setting up furniture manufacturing units in Telangana. “The Malabar unit stands as a beacon for Telangana’s emergence as a manufacturing powerhouse,” he stressed.
