Telangana, with its world-class infrastructure and investor-friendly ecosystem, is one of the most attractive destinations for global investments, said IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu.
The Minister held a meeting with a Slovenian delegation at the Assembly Committee Hall on Wednesday. Welcoming the visiting trade and industry delegation led by Slovenia’s Ambassador to India, Tomaz Mencin, Sridhar Babu highlighted the vast investment opportunities available in Telangana across key sectors such as life sciences, automobiles, and information technology.
Describing Slovenia as one of the prosperous nations in Central Europe, the Minister noted the strong potential for collaboration between the two regions. He emphasized that the recently concluded Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the European Union in January enables duty-free access for nearly 99.95% of products exported from here to European markets, making Telangana an even more attractive investment hub.
The Minister assured that the Telangana government would extend all necessary support and incentives to companies setting up industries in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and automotive components manufacturing. He also pointed out that Slovenia plays a significant role in supplying original equipment components to major global automobile brands such as Volkswagen, Kia, Peugeot, Citroën, and Stellantis.
Praising Slovenia’s advancements in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, Sridhar Babu noted that the country contributes significantly to Europe’s life sciences and pharma supply chain. He added that Telangana, being a leader in India’s pharma and biotech sectors, offers strong synergies through its robust infrastructure and established ecosystem.
The Minister further highlighted the immense opportunities in IT development and cloud computing in Telangana, inviting Slovenian companies to explore partnerships and investments in these areas.
Energy Special Chief Secretary Naveen Mittal, Industries Commissioner Nikhil Chakravarthy, and Slovenian representatives Asif Iqbal, Sujith Nair, and Keerthi Chilukuri were also present at the meeting.
