Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, chairing the Infrastructure and Capital Sub-Committee, has directed officials to prioritize the enhancement of non-tax revenues and ensure equitable budget allocations across departments.
At a review meeting of the Cabinet's Assets Sub-Committee held at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat on Sunday, the Deputy CM was joined by Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy, Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, and senior officials. He stressed the importance of securing central funds in addition to boosting non-tax income.
Highlighting the state’s commitment to welfare, Vikramarka stated that the current government is continuing all previous schemes while launching new programs worth Rs 33,600 crore, including Rythu Bharosa, Indiramma Atmiya Kanuka, Mahalakshmi, Free Electricity, and Indiramma Housing.
He pointed out imbalances in budget allocations, urging officials to ensure rational expenditure and focus on revenue-generating departments. Expenditures should be guided by necessity and priority, he said, calling for realistic and need-based financial planning.
The Deputy CM instructed officials to expedite rationalization, complete spillover projects, and submit a comprehensive plan within ten days. Equal development across all departments is crucial for the state’s holistic progress, he noted. Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, Finance Principal Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania, and representatives from various departments attended the session.
