The Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), Telangana State Chapter, has received a positive response from the Hon’ble Chief Minister, A. Revanth Reddy, for the allocation of 1,000 sq. yards of government land to construct a dedicated Telangana ASI building.

Dr. Barigela Ramesh, Honorary Secretary of the Telangana ASI Chapter, expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for his visionary support. The allocated plot, behind the APGDA and TSGDA offices in Koti, Hyderabad, will house a modern facility including simulation and skills labs, lecture halls, an auditorium, and a digital library. The building will be constructed entirely through donations and grants, aiming to strengthen surgical education, postgraduate training, and continuing medical education across Telangana.

The chapter also announced the Telangana Hernia Summit 2026, scheduled for April 3–5 at Shilpakala Vedika, Hyderabad. The national-level conference is expected to host around 1,000 delegates, including prominent national and international surgical faculty. The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Archaeology, Jupally Krishna Rao, has extended support as the event’s venue host.

The chapter acknowledged the efforts of key leaders, including MLAs Kavampally Sathyanarayana, Ramchendar Naik, Murali, and advisors Vemu Narender Reddy and Mahesh Kumar Goud, for their valuable support in facilitating the land allocation.

The ASI Telangana Chapter looks forward to leveraging this opportunity to provide world-class surgical training, promote research, and improve healthcare outcomes across the state.
