The Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman at her residence on Safdarjung Road in Delhi on Saturday, seeking the release of pending financial resources due to the state. During the meeting, he submitted letters detailing various financial issues and requested the Centre's intervention for early resolution.

During the meeting, Bhatti submitted eight representations relating to release of financial resources that were submitted by the Telangana government to the Centre from the last few years.

The Deputy CM emphasized the need for restructuring the debt of various corporations and Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) and urged the Finance Ministry to issue necessary guidelines to financial institutions. He also appealed for the expedited repayment of Rs 4,08,48,54,461 owed to the Telangana government and sought a special relief fund for the state's backward districts under Section 94(2) of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014.

Another key issue raised was the incorrect allocation of funds for Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) in the financial year 2014-15, which Telangana urged the Centre to rectify. Additionally, he requested the refund of ₹208.24 crores under Section 56(2) of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014.

The discussions also covered financial settlements between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The Deputy CM sought the release of funds from Andhra Pradesh Power Finance Corporation to Telangana Power Finance Corporation, in line with the excess liability allocation. He further requested the resolution of pending dues between the power utilities of both states and urged the Centre to facilitate fund transfers under the Reorganisation Act.

The meeting was attended by Special Chief Secretary, Finance, Ramakrishna Rao, Resident Commissioner Gaurav Uppal, and MPs Mallu Ravi, Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, and Balram Naik, among others.
