Telangana is “Rising” not in development but in Unemployment, Debts, Corruption and a Deficit-ridden budget, asserted BJP State President N Ramchander Rao, predicting that this “Rising trend will ultimately make the Congress government Fall.”
In an informal interaction with the media at the party office in Nampally on Sunday, Rao launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, accusing him of administrative failure and political blame games. “Revanth Reddy is now suffering from ‘Kishan Reddy phobia.’ He blames Union Minister Kishan Reddy for everything, instead of focusing on fulfilling promises made to the people,” the BJP leader remarked.
He mocked the CM’s frequent visits to New Delhi, saying Revanth has already completed a “half-century” of trips. Rao said the government should concentrate on long-pending commitments like Nirudyoga Bruthi and job notifications, particularly the troubled Group-1 recruitment. “For 11 years, no new recruitment has been done for Group-1 officers. Administrative functioning is weakening, with fewer IAS and IPS officers being conferred,” he noted.
On charges that the Centre was ignoring Telangana projects wish list, Rao clarified that there is nothing wrong with states reaching out to New Delhi. “The federal system encourages cooperation. But the state’s demands must be reasonable. Ultimately, it is the Centre’s prerogative,” he said.
Turning his guns toward financial management, Rao alleged that while the Congress government struggles to pay salaries to employees, it makes tall promises. “Revanth Reddy says he will give ₹1,000 crore to Osmania University, but hostels are in ruins, mess bills are unpaid, and the varsity has no funds,” he said, urging the CM to prioritize immediate needs.
On the Congress’ “Vote Chori” claim, Rao dismissed it as “foolish.” Explaining the process of voter deletion, he said voter IDs cannot be removed automatically even after a person’s death without formal application. He also highlighted the issue of bogus and duplicate votes in Hyderabad constituencies like Malkajgiri and Jubilee Hills, stating that BJP would pursue cleansing of the electoral rolls with the Election Commission.
Commenting on irrigation projects, Rao criticized the Congress’ plan to build Tummidihatti without clarity. He demanded release of the DPR before any big-ticket spending. On Kaleshwaram, he reiterated BJP’s demand for a CBI probe, stressing that its timing is entirely up to the investigating agency.
Rao also accused Congress of deliberately delaying local body polls to avoid central funding, supported intensified “Operation Kagar” against Maoists, and declared BJP’s readiness to give 42% tickets to BC candidates. “The BJP is emerging as the only credible alternative in Telangana. Whenever elections come, the path to power is clear for us,” he said.
