The Telangana government has accorded administrative sanction for the construction of a new iconic bridge across the historic Mir Alam Tank, linking the Bengaluru National Highway at Shastripuram with Chintalmet Road. The project, to be executed under EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) mode, has been allocated a budget of Rs 430 crore.

The initiative is being spearheaded by the Musi Riverfront Development Corporation Limited (MRDCL) and is envisioned as part of broader efforts to transform Hyderabad’s infrastructure landscape.

The government has permitted the MRDCL to initiate the tender process for EPC execution and simultaneously acquire the required lands and properties. A Project Management Consultancy (PMC) agency will be engaged through a competitive bidding process to ensure quality assurance, supervision, and audit of the works. Further, the technical designs and drawings submitted by the EPC agency will be vetted by reputed institutions such as IIT-Hyderabad, NIT Warangal, or JNTU-Hyderabad after PMC approval.
