Telangana's Minister for IT and Industries, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, extended an invitation to Italian companies to explore investment opportunities in the state’s rapidly growing aerospace and defence sectors.

Speaking at a meeting with top representatives from leading Italian aerospace and defence firms, the Minister emphasized that Telangana is emerging as one of India’s most dynamic hubs in the industry.

Sridhar Babu highlighted the state's comprehensive ecosystem, which includes component manufacturing, supply chains, Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) services, avionics, radar systems, new-space technologies, small satellites, and advanced materials and composites. ‘Telangana offers a robust industrial infrastructure,

including dedicated aerospace parks, SEZs, a vast MSME network, cutting-edge R&D facilities, world-class connectivity, and skilled human resources. Through our TS-iPASS initiative, we ensure approvals within 15 days — a process unparalleled anywhere in the country,’ he said.

The Minister also pointed out that Hyderabad is home to several national and international aerospace giants such as Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, DRDO, Tata Advanced Systems, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, GE Aviation, and Pratt & Whitney. The city is also seeing the rise of local startups like Dhruva Space, Ananth Technologies, and Skyroot Aerospace, which are gaining global acclaim.

Emphasizing the potential for collaboration, Sridhar Babu noted that Italy’s expertise in engine maintenance, avionics, and radar and sensor systems aligns perfectly with Telangana’s manufacturing capabilities. This partnership, he added, could significantly enhance India's defence capabilities and boost export potential.

‘The demand for lightweight, high-strength composites — an area where Italian companies excel — is growing rapidly in Telangana. Strengthening our partnership in these areas will also fortify our bilateral ties,’ he concluded.

The meeting was attended by Special Chief Secretary Sanjay Kumar, Defence and Aerospace Director Praveen P A and Consul General of Italy in Bengaluru Gian Domenico Milano.
