The Tolichowki Police have successfully cracked two major theft cases within days, apprehending three suspects and recovering gold, silver, and cash worth around Rs 10 lakh.
In the first case, reported on December 4, Sri Iqbal Ahmed of Satva Magnus, Tolichowki, informed police that gold ornaments, including a chain with pendant, a gold ring with diamond, earrings, and bangles totaling 45 grams, went missing from his home. Acting on credible information, police traced the items on December 6 at OM Jewellers in Tolichowki and arrested Smt. Madhuri Anuradha, 39, a housemaid at the complainant’s residence.
In the second case, Farheena Begum of NSF Colony, Tolichowki, reported that during her absence, 4.5 tula of gold, 50 tula of silver ornaments, and cash of Rs 5,000 were stolen from her home. Tolichowki Police tracked the suspects, Ruheena Begum, 27, a housemaid, and Mohd Razak, 35, an auto driver, to MAWA Jewellers on December 5 and recovered the stolen property.
