TPCC Vice President and Congress Party In-charge for the Sanathnagar Assembly Constituency, Dr. Kota Neelima, visited the Sri Ujjaini Mahakali temple on Saturday and offered special prayers to the presiding deity. Dr. Neelima inaugurated the weaving of the traditional ceremonial saree to be offered to Goddess Mahakali during the Bonalu festivities, which is being handcrafted under the guidance of handloom artisans Jayaraj and Bhadrayya. Dr. Neelima attended the coordination meeting on the arrangements for the Sri Ujjaini Mahakali Bonalu Festival, held under the chairmanship of DCP Rakshita Krishnamurthy along with officials from various departments.
Dr. Kota Neelima emphasized that all government departments, in coordination with the police department, must work collectively to ensure that the Bonalu celebrations, which attract lakhs of devotees, are conducted peacefully, safely, and without inconvenience to the public. Dr. Neelima further stated that the Telangana Government is organizing the Bonalu festival with utmost commitment, having allocated a special budget of Rs 20 crore for its successful conduct.
