Under the leadership of MLC Teenmar Mallanna, the Telangana Rajyadhikar Party (TRP) staged a flash protest today at Gun Park in Hyderabad, demanding the immediate implementation of the BC Sub-Plan and allocation of Rs 55,000 crore for Backward Classes (BCs) in the state budget.
Addressing the gathering, Party President and MLC Teenmar Mallanna stated that although BC communities constitute a significant percentage of the state’s population, they are not receiving their rightful share in development and welfare. He demanded that the government fulfill the promises made in the Kamareddy BC Declaration and ensure a budgetary allocation of Rs 55,000 crore exclusively for BC welfare.
He further called for 42% reservations for BCs in education, employment, self-employment schemes, contracts, housing, and skill development sectors. He emphasized that only through proper implementation of these measures can genuine benefits reach the BC communities.
Party leaders strongly criticized the government, alleging that while allocations for BCs are announced every year in the budget, the funds are neither fully released nor properly utilized for their intended purpose. They accused the government of diverting BC funds to other needs, terming it a grave injustice and a violation of the rights of BC communities. Several state leaders, district leaders, student wing representatives, leaders of affiliated organizations, and a large number of party workers participated in the protest, expressing solidarity and unity. Representatives of various BC associations also extended their support and took part in the agitation.
The party warned that if the government fails to respond immediately and ensure justice to BC communities, it will launch large-scale statewide agitations in the coming days.
