In a shocking revelation, TTD board member Bhanu Prakash Reddy has accused the previous YSRCP government of orchestrating a Rs. 100 crore scam involving the hundi collections at the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). Reddy alleged that a significant amount of foreign currency was also stolen from the hundi and demanded a thorough investigation into the matter.

Speaking to the media, Reddy claimed that a person named Ravi Kumar was caught red-handed while stealing cash from the hundi in April 2023. Despite a vigilance inquiry into the matter, the accused was let off due to pressure from certain influential individuals in the previous government.

“The stolen amount is estimated to be around Rs. 100 crores. The money was allegedly transferred through secret channels,” Reddy alleged. He further stated that he had filed a complaint with the DGP seeking a thorough investigation into the matter and demanding the recovery of the stolen funds.

Reddy also questioned the role of a police officer who, according to a vigilance report, intervened in the case to protect the accused. He demanded that the identity of this police officer be revealed. “It is shocking to learn that a police officer was bribed to protect the accused in this case. This clearly shows how the previous government misused its power to protect the culprits," Reddy said.

The TTD board member called for a comprehensive investigation into the entire episode and demanded that those responsible for the scam be brought to justice. He also expressed concerns about the security of the hundi collections and urged the TTD authorities to take necessary measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
