Two persons attending a party at a farmhouse in Moinabad tested positive for alleged drug consumption, police said on Monday. Acting on reliable information, a Special Operations Team (SOT) of the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate raided the Cherry Oaks farmhouse in Peddamangalaram village under the Moinabad police station limits late Sunday night and found 55 participants, including several minors.
According to police sources, over 50 intermediate students, many aged between 15 and 17, were found at the party, which featured drugs, alcohol, and loud music. Around 14 girls and 35 boys reportedly participated in the event, hailing from areas such as Gachibowli, Madhapur, Narsingi, KPHB and Kukatpally.
The party was reportedly organized through a social media platform, with an entry fee charged for food and drinks.
‘The attendees were tested for drug consumption, following which two tested positive for ganja use,’ a senior police official said. The participants were detained and questioned.
Police seized eight liquor bottles and a DJ setup from the farmhouse, which was allegedly being operated without any permission.
The organizers were identified and have been booked under relevant sections for organizing the party and further investigation is underway.
