The Uttar Pradesh government has secured agreements for proposed investments totaling around Rs 3 lakh crore during its participation at the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting in Davos, Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said on Tuesday.

Briefing reporters, Khanna said the state delegation held 119 meetings with global investors, including interactions with over 55 multinational companies, which resulted in memoranda of understanding (MoUs) across multiple sectors.

The largest MoU was signed with Netherlands-based AM Green for a one-gigawatt artificial intelligence-driven data transfer project, with an estimated investment of USD 25 billion. Khanna described it as the biggest MoU for Uttar Pradesh at Davos so far.

Other agreements were inked in sectors such as data centres, renewable energy, green hydrogen, defence, tourism, food processing, logistics, electric vehicles, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare manufacturing.

Khanna said the state received a highly positive response at the event, with continuous interest at the UP pavilion reflecting investor confidence. He attributed this to improved infrastructure, connectivity, and the "clean, personal image" of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with guidance from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Companies from the US, UK, Sweden, Australia, and Singapore were among those that engaged with the state delegation. Khanna said more investment proposals are expected to materialize in the near future.

The UP delegation at Davos included Finance Secretary Deepak Kumar, Chief Minister’s Secretary Amit Singh, Invest UP CEO Vijay Kiran Anand, and NEDA Director Indrajeet Singh. This marked the third time Uttar Pradesh participated in the WEF summit in Switzerland.
