Hyderabad: Senior CPI leader CPI Narayana on Monday expressed concern over the BJP’s shift away from policy-driven politics following recent election results in five states. The CPI leader noted that the BJP showed relatively better performance in West Bengal, where Union Home Minister Amit Shah camped in Kolkata for nearly 10 days during the campaign, raising questions about the nature of the party’s electoral approach.
In contrast, he noted that, the BJP failed to make significant gains in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. In Puducherry, the NDA’s victory appears to be largely due to internal divisions within the Congress party rather than its own political strength. Alleging increasing reliance on religious polarization and misuse of institutions, Narayana warned that such trends could undermine secularism and democratic values, urging democratic forces to remain vigilant.
