Former YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) Rajya Sabha member V. Vijayasai Reddy has launched a sharp attack on the Congress, the Communist parties and TDP president and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, questioning what he described as contradictions in their political alliances and support for different leaders in Andhra Pradesh. In a post on social media platform X, Vijayasai Reddy alleged that the Congress was working with the YSRCP, by indirectly supporting the “cockroach party”. He noted that the Communist Party of India (CPI) and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM) were constituents of the INDIA bloc formed under the Congress leadership, while the YSRCP had extended unconditional support to the Congress-led alliance on certain issues.

He also cited the CPI’s announcement that it was working with the YSRCP. Vijayasai Reddy sought to highlight what he portrayed as inconsistencies in the political positions of the Congress and the Left parties, particularly in the context of their support for former Intelligence chief A.B. Venkateswara Rao, popularly known as ABV. According to Vijayasai Reddy, Venkateswara Rao had declared his determination to ensure that Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy never returned as Chief Minister, encapsulated in the slogan “Jagan Never Again”.

The former MP also criticized Chandrababu Naidu over the political positioning of leaders from different communities. He alleged that Naidu had sent Kapu leader and former MLA Vangaveeti Radha Krishna, son of late Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga, to the Jana Sena Party, while ABV, who belonged to the Kamma community, was being encouraged to contest as an Independent. Vijayasai Reddy characterized this alleged political arrangement as an example of Naidu’s approach to managing political interests and alliances.

Concluding his post with a pointed question, Vijayasai Reddy asked how long the people of Andhra Pradesh should tolerate shameless politics. His comments have added another dimension to the ongoing political exchanges between the YSRCP, the ruling coalition and parties aligned with the Congress-led INDIA bloc.
