22-01-2026 12:00:00 AM

The tap connection of a house was disconnected on Wednesday after the water supply was wasted for the second time. A fine of ten thousand rupees was already imposed in the past once on the house owner for wasting water. The incident took place in Banjara Hills. On September 3rd last year, a drinking water sump overflowed in Banjara Hills Road No.12  and water flowed on the road for about a kilometre.

The local manager of the O&D division went and inspected and said that drinking water should not be wasted. A notice was issued to him and a fine of Rs 10000 was imposed on the person on the directions of the MD. He also warned that if he did this again, the connection would be removed. On Wednesday, HMWSSB MD Ashok Reddy was travelling on Banjara Hills Main Road when noticed that there was a leakage of water in Road No.12.

The MD was angry on knowing that that the person had already been fined for wasting water negligently in the past. Officials have been directed to disconnect the connection for wasting water for the second time. As a result, the water board officials disconnected the tap connection of the house.
