Youth, research and innovation driving forces for the 2047 goals: Jupally

Tourism, Culture, Archaeology and Excise Minister Jupally Krishna Rao said that youth, scientific knowledge and innovation will be the driving forces in transforming India into a developed, self-reliant and knowledge-based nation by the centenary of Independence in 2047.

The Minister was the chief guest at the two-day national conference titled "Vision India–2047: Integrating Science, Innovation and Youth Empowerment," jointly organized by Palamuru University and the Ministry of Education, Government of India. He said that scientific research, technological innovation and the power of youth must work together if India is to become a developed nation by 2047. Emerging sectors such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Science, Biotechnology, Semiconductors, Renewable Energy, Space Technology and Start-ups will shape the country's future economy, he noted.

The Minister said that the people-centric government led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is committed to achieving balanced and sustainable development with the goal of transforming Telangana into a $3 trillion economy by 2047. To achieve this, the government is pursuing development through four key pillars—CURE, PURE, RARE, and Women-Led Development. These, he said, would promote regional balance, agricultural progress, industrial growth and social inclusion.

He emphasized that economic growth alone is not sufficient and that society also needs a change in mindset. Rural India, he observed, continues to remain trapped in debt, which is a matter of concern. He also pointed out that the country has not yet achieved the desired level of literacy. Expressing concern over the growing preference for corporate education and corporate healthcare, the Minister said that many families are falling into debt due to lavish spending on weddings and other social functions driven by social imitation. He stressed that the goals of Viksit Bharat–2047 and Rising Telangana–2047 can be achieved only by providing quality public education and healthcare and by further strengthening these sectors. He added that the government is taking steps to create awareness against social evils and will soon launch the Prabhata Bheri programme.

The Minister said that universities should go beyond teaching and emerge as centres for research, innovation, entrepreneurship and social development. Stronger collaboration among the government, universities and industry, he said, would provide youth with quality education, skill development, research opportunities and greater employment prospects. He expressed confidence that the deliberations and intellectual discussions at the national conference would generate practical recommendations to help India and Telangana achieve their Vision 2047 goals.
