Glendale Academy hosted its flagship event, Glen Run 2025, drawing hundreds of students, parents, and community members in support of sparrow conservation and UN Sustainable Development Goal 15: Life on Land. Held under the theme ‘Save the Sparrow,’ the event seamlessly blended fitness with environmental awareness.
Starting at Glendale Academy, the marathon route extended to Army Public School and back, featuring a 3K run, cycling, skating, and creative competitions including poster making, photography, slogan writing, and a DIY nest-making workshop to promote simple, actionable conservation steps.
During the upcoming vacation (Sept 21–Oct 5), students will conduct sparrow sighting surveys and present a Plan of Action to Forest and Environment Minister Smt Konda Surekha, reinforcing their commitment to biodiversity protection.
Chief Guests G Vivek Venkatswamy, State Minister, and Mohammad Azharuddin, former cricket captain, praised Glendale for fostering ecological responsibility among youth. They highlighted the importance of such initiatives in cultivating a more conscious and sustainable future.
