In a tribute to India’s former President and renowned scientist Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the Vibrants of Kalam organization is set to install statues of the iconic leader across all 13 erstwhile districts of Andhra Pradesh. The initiative was formally unveiled at the state Secretariat, where Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the statue designs.

The project is being spearheaded by Vibrants of Kalam, a Telangana-based organization founded by Vijay Kalam, a native of Khammam. Speaking at the event, Vijay Kalam shared that the organization has been engaged in social service activities across India for over a decade, inspired by Abdul Kalam’s life and ideals.

“Our mission is to spread Kalam’s vision of knowledge, integrity, and service by commemorating him in public spaces,” he said. Under the banner Great Indian Statues, the organization plans to install 25 statues of Abdul Kalam, each 20 feet tall, at prominent locations across both Telugu-speaking states — Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu lauded the initiative and congratulated Vijay Kalam and his team. “Dr. Kalam was the father of India’s missile program and served the nation with unparalleled dedication as President. His life continues to inspire millions,” Naidu said. He also recalled his personal association with Dr. Kalam and praised his contributions to science, education, and national development.
