Minister for Irrigation and Civil Supplies N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that Hyderabad is witnessing a wave of investments in the past one year and the city is rapidly transforming into a global investment hub. Addressing a media awards ceremony held at the HICC on Tuesday, the Minister said Hyderabad was witnessing large-scale investments from some of the biggest global players.
Over the past year, Hyderabad has seen a strong wave of investment activity, with several established companies significantly expanding their operations and many new global players setting up shop in the city. Companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, Infosys, and HCL have increased their presence through expanded campuses, data centres, and technology hubs. At the same time, multinational giants such as Amgen, Sanofi, FedEx, and the London Stock Exchange Group have launched new facilities focused on innovation, pharmaceuticals, logistics, and fintech.
The Minister emphasised that Hyderabad’s global reputation was built on a solid foundation laid by successive Congress governments. “Whether it is the international airport, the Outer Ring Road, the Metro Rail, or the supply of drinking water from the Krishna and Godavari rivers to Hyderabad, these were all created by visionary Congress leadership. We are now building on that legacy with projects like Future City, Skill University, and expansion of the Metro network,” he said.
Highlighting the need for collaboration between the media and the government, the Minister said both must act in unison to serve the people. “We are partners in the progress of Telangana. We are partners in the well-being of our society. And we must never forget, we are ultimately here to serve the weakest sections and the poorest of the poor,” Uttam Kumar Reddy declared.
