The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, on Thursday approved a series of welfare, education, infrastructure and industrial proposals aimed at boosting employment, social welfare and investment across the state.

One of the key decisions was the launch of “Netannala Sevalo”, a new welfare scheme under which 51,952 active handloom weaver families living below the poverty line will receive Rs 25,000 annually, irrespective of age or the number of looms they own. The scheme, with an annual outlay of Rs 129.88 crore, is intended to support the purchase of yarn, dyes, chemicals and modernisation of equipment to improve productivity and incomes.

The Cabinet cleared several land allotments for renewable energy, tourism, aviation and industrial projects, including approvals for AM Green Energy’s 1,000 MW renewable energy project, a compressed biogas plant in Kuppam, and measures to facilitate an aerospace hub at Puttaparthi.

It also approved the implementation of BHAVYA (Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana) industrial parks, including Space City in Tirupati, Drone City in Kurnool and Aerospace & Defence Park in Sri Sathya Sai district, besides sanctioning Rs 641.10 crore for the Neradi Barrage under the Vamsadhara Stage-II project and Rs 312 crore for Handri Neeva canal lining works.
