Andhra CM calls for providing essential commodities at the earliest

In the wake of “Cyclone Montha”, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu held a teleconference on Wednesday with district collectors, officials and ministers and instructed them to provide essential commodities to the affected people at the earliest along with assessing the loss estimates. Reiterating that the cyclone has been tackled effectively since the last 4-5 days, the Chief Minister has given several instructions to the officials and ministers on the measures to be taken in the flood-affected areas. 

Appreciating everyone who worked during the relief measures, he called for taking steps to ensure normalcy at the earliest. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu also directed the officials to visit the affected areas, find out the people’s problems and inform them about the relief measures being undertaken by the government. The Chief Minister also called sending the loss estimates report to the central government as soon as possible so as to obtain the cyclone relief compensation funds. 

“We have set up a mic announcement system on the secretariats and provided information to the government at the grassroots level.” he mentioned on this occasion. The Chief Minister also appreciated in particular the collectors and officials who obtained real time information in the control room and took precautions and the SDRF, electricity, police and fire personnel who cleared the collapsed trees and wires and also cleared the drains. The Chief Minister, on this occasion directed the officials to provide 50 kgs of rice along with essentials like vegetables, pulses and oil to the families of fishermen who lost livelihood due to the cyclone.
