As part of their South Korea tour to attract global investments, Andhra Pradesh Ministers P. Narayana and B.C. Janardhan Reddy held key meetings in Seoul with top representatives of ShoeallS and SK Hynix, two global leaders in advanced technology and manufacturing.

In a high-level interaction with ShoeallS Chairman Chewoong Lee, the ministers extended an invitation to the company to participate in the 30th CII Partnership Summit scheduled to be held in Visakhapatnam on November 14-15. ShoeallS, a world leader in medical and smart footwear, has pioneered innovations such as soles embedded with medical chips, shoes that generate electricity while walking, and specialized footwear designed to aid patients suffering from diabetes and arthritis. The ministers explored the possibility of the company setting up a manufacturing base in Andhra Pradesh and highlighted the state’s investment-friendly environment under Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership.

Later, the delegation met with June Choi, EVP of Global Growth Strategy at SK Hynix, one of the world’s largest suppliers of DRAM chips, NAND flash memory, SRAM, and CMOS image sensors. The ministers invited SK Hynix to invest in Andhra Pradesh and join the CII summit in Visakhapatnam. With Apple, Microsoft, and Dell among its global clients, SK Hynix was briefed on opportunities to establish a memory module manufacturing unit in Andhra Pradesh, backed by robust policy support from the state government.

The meetings were part of the Andhra Pradesh-South Korea Business Forum Roadshow, organized under the aegis of the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB). Addressing Korean investors, Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy showcased Andhra Pradesh’s rapid strides in attracting investments and creating jobs.

He pointed out that in the past year alone, the state had secured ₹10 lakh crore worth of investments across 156 projects, creating eight lakh jobs. With 1,053 km of coastline, four new greenfield ports under construction, and a strong multi-modal logistics network, Andhra Pradesh is emerging as the gateway to India’s east coast trade.

The minister underlined Andhra Pradesh’s strength in renewable energy, with 39% of its 20 GW installed capacity already from green sources, and an ambitious target of 160 GW renewable capacity by 2047, alongside plans to establish a Green Hydrogen Valley. He also highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s technological edge, announcing the installation of IBM’s 133-qubit Quantum System-2, India’s most powerful computer, in the state.
