AP notifies free RTE admissions in Pvt schools

Ensuring educational access for underprivileged children, the Andhra Pradesh government has issued a key notification enabling free education for economically weaker students in private schools across the state. The School Education Department has announced the complete schedule for filling 25 percent of seats under the Right to Education (RTE) Act for the academic year 2026-27.

Under this initiative, eligible students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds will be able to seek admission in private schools located near their place of residence. Applications received under the scheme will be scrutinized, and admissions will be granted based on seat availability, eligibility criteria, and other stipulated norms.

According to the schedule released by Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan Project Director Srinivasa Rao, the application process for admissions into Class 1 will commence from February 20. Parents and guardians can submit applications online through the official website http://cse.ap.gov.in. Applications can also be submitted through village and ward secretariats, Mandal Education Resource Centres, and the respective schools.

The Education Department has specified that children born between June 2, 2020 and May 31, 2021 will be eligible for admission into Class 1 in state syllabus schools. An official detailed notification regarding the admissions process is scheduled to be released on Friday. Private schools have been directed to upload their institutional details on the designated portal between February 7 and 16. Online applications from students will be accepted from February 20 to March 10.

Following the closure of applications, the eligibility of candidates will be verified on March 17 based on data available with village and ward secretariats. The first phase of seat allotment will be conducted on March 25, after which admission confirmations will take place from March 26 to April 7. 

The second round of seat allotment is scheduled for April 12. Verification and confirmation of admissions by schools under this phase will be carried out between April 13 and April 23.
