TTD Additional Executive Officer C.H. Venkaiah Chowdary said on Thursday that free service has been made available through APSRTC buses to transport devotees from one place to another in Tirumala. He flagged off the free trips of RTC buses at Ashwini Hospital Circle in Tirumala on Thursday morning. Speaking on the occasion, he said that he has requested APSRTC to stop the exorbitant charges being collected by private vehicles from devotees in Tirumala and to ply buses free of cost to control pollution.

The RTC officials, who responded positively, thanked him for coming forward to ply the buses free of cost. He said that these buses will ply on the same route as Srivari Dharma rathas in Tirumala and transport devotees from one place to another free of cost. These free trips will provide additional benefit to the devotees and the RTC, he added. He said that the TTD is already making 300 trips every day in Tirumala through Sri Vari Dharma Rathala.

With the addition of RTC buses, an additional 80 trips have been made, he said. With the availability of buses every two minutes, the public transport system will be strengthened and there will be multiple benefits, he said. Devotees will be able to go directly to Tirupati by boarding these RTC buses at various places in Tirumala without coming to the bus stand.
