NTR District Collector Dr. G. Lakshmisha said on Wednesday that all arrangements are being made to ensure that the devotees of Bhavani, who come in lakhs to worship with devotion and offer offerings to the Goddess, to conclude their “Bhavani Deeksha” in a spiritual atmosphere without any inconvenience and also to have a darshan of the Goddess quickly.
On Wednesday, District Collector, along with City Police Commissioner S. V. Rajasekhar Babu, Endowment, Revenue, Police, Medical, Health, Fire, Municipal Corporation, Electricity, Irrigation and R&B departments, inspected the facilities being provided for devotees during the Bhavani Deeksha conclusion ceremony. Later, the collector said that Bhavani devotees will offer their offerings to the goddess and conclude the deeksha from the 21st to the 25th of this month.
It is estimated that about 6 lakh Bhavani devotees will visit the goddess every day in that period. He has instructed the officials to make strong arrangements in view of the arrival of Bhavani devotees. He said that all arrangements are being made to make the Bhavani initiation ceremony a success just like the Dussehra celebrations.
He said that arrangements like waterproof shamianas, choir mats and drinking water supply have been made on the queue route. He said that continuous instructions and information will be provided to the devotees through the public addressing system. He said that the municipal officials will monitor the continuous sanitation work by setting up the necessary temporary toilets. He said that medical camps and rest areas are being set up not only around the temple but also along various roads leading to the city. He said that all necessary arrangements are being made for the devotees at the bathing ghats.
He said that arrangements have been made for the devotees to have a quick darshan of the goddess and offer their offerings in the form of “irumudis” and that three homa gundams have been arranged for the convenience of the devotees. He said that the endowment officials have been instructed to keep the necessary laddu prasadams ready for the devotees. He said that steps are being taken to ensure that the area where the red clothes are left in the water after bathing at the ghats and rosary is removed is sanitized.
City Police Commissioner Raja Shekhar Babu said that a special app has been made available for devotees undertaking Bhavani Dhiksha. He said that devotees will have the opportunity to know details like queue arrangements, waiting halls, parking lots, laddu prasadam, and distribution of food prasadam through the app. He said that strict security measures have been taken and that CCTVs have been installed in all important areas. He explained that special arrangements have been made for the convenience of differently-abled people.
Municipal Corporation Commissioner H. M. Dhyana Chandra said that special teams have been prepared for sanitation and a plan is being formulated and implemented to take steps for sanitation from time to time. He said that the Indian Red Cross Society, voluntary organizations and volunteers are being used to make the program a success.
Temple EO KS Rama Rao said that arrangements are being made to make the event successful, similar to the Dussehra celebrations. He said that three Homa Gundas will be set up. Similarly, a total of 800 showers will be set up at the feet of Godess Seethadevi’s feet, Punnami Ghat and Bhavani Ghat. Keeping in mind the past incidents, EO Rama Rao said that arrangements are being made this time to ensure that there is no shortage of laddu prasadam. He said that they are coordinating with the officials of various departments to ensure that the Deeksha conclusion take place in a spiritual atmosphere and are working hard to make the program a success.
Vijayawada RDO Chaitanya, temple EE Koteswara Rao, revenue, police, medical, health, fire, municipal corporation, electricity, irrigation, fisheries and R&B department officials participated in the meeting.
