Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Satya Kumar Yadav stated that Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy have huge potential to attract medical tourism in the state.

The central government has already approved Rs.87 crore for AYUSH in 2024–25, a sharp rise from the Rs.37 crore received during the previous five-year term. For 2025–26, we have proposed an ambitious Rs.150 crore in our annual action plan,” he said.

The minister underscored the value of integrating AYUSH with modern allopathic medicine through composite hospitals. “This blend of traditional and modern systems not only improves healthcare access but also opens doors for investments and medical tourism in the state,” he said, adding that Andhra Pradesh is actively working to attract such investment and enhance infrastructure for integrated healthcare.

Citing Kerala’s successful model, the Minister emphasized how public support for traditional medicine has spurred both healthcare delivery and tourism potential. “We aim to replicate such models to maximize benefits for both citizens and the economy,” he added.
