Bhatti hands over Rs 1 crore insurance to lineman’s family

Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Wednesday handed over a Rs 1 crore accident insurance cheque to Sonkamble Swapna, wife of NPDCL lineman Sonkamble Pramod Kumar, who died while on duty.

The cheque was presented at Praja Bhavan under the Union Bank-NPDCL USSA salary account insurance scheme, which provides Rs 1 crore personal accident coverage to eligible employees. Pramod Kumar, a lineman in NPDCL’s Basara division, died in an accident on March 24, 2025, while discharging his duties. Following a claim filed by his wife, the insurance amount was credited to her account on May 30, 2026. Senior NPDCL and Union Bank officials attended the programme and expressed condolences to the family.
