Tolichowki Police handed over 26 recovered mobile phones worth around Rs. 5 lakh to their rightful owners during a press meet held at Tolichowki Police Station on Wednesday.
The mobile phones, which had been reported lost or stolen, were traced and recovered through the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) Portal using technical investigation. The recovery drive was carried out under the supervision of ACP Tolichowki Division Syed Fiaz, Inspector L. Ramesh Naik, Additional Inspector G. Balraj, DSI S. Ravi Kumar and the crime team.
Addressing the media, the ACP explained the investigation process and highlighted the effectiveness of the CEIR Portal in tracing lost mobile devices. The recovered phones were tracked from various states, including Bihar, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra. After completing all legal formalities, the recovered devices were returned to their owners, who identified their phones and thanked the police for their prompt action and successful recovery efforts.
