Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar reaffirmed his commitment to the development of Kondagattu Anjaneya Temple during a 40-kilometer spiritual pilgrimage from Mahashakti Temple in Karimnagar on Saturday morning. The pilgrimage, which began at 7 a.m., included newly elected sarpanches, ward members, corporators, councillors, and party workers, who joined step by step along the route.

The procession passed through Rekurti and Kothapalli before reaching Gangadhara, where the participants took a brief lunch break and continued on foot via Pooduru towards Kondagattu. A minor disruption occurred near Ramadugu when drone cameras accidentally damaged a beehive, but the procession continued without further issues.

Addressing the public, Bandi Sanjay said he had promised to reach Kondagattu Anjaneya Temple along with the BJP representatives elected in local elections, and he fulfilled this commitment by starting the spiritual journey from Mahashakti Amman Temple. He emphasized that the pilgrimage aimed to serve society and honor the trust of the voters who elected them.

Sanjay credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Nitin Nabin, and leader Ramchandra Rao for inspiring the pilgrimage. He said the funding for Kondagattu’s development was provided by the NDA government in Andhra Pradesh and highlighted that the presence of a “double-engine” government in AP enabled securing these resources. He added that if Telangana were to have a similar double-engine government, Kondagattu could be developed on the scale of TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams).

Plans include constructing a massive annadanam (community dining) hall for devotees, cottages and guesthouses to accommodate thousands, and the largest possible hall for Hanuman Deeksha ceremonies. Sanjay said efforts were also made to develop a temple corridor linking Kondagattu, Vemulawada, and Illandakuṇta temples, but previous proposals were ignored by the former BRS government.

Sanjay criticized Congress MLA Mandula Samuel for derogatory remarks against Hindus and alleged that the party continued to follow divisive politics. He demanded Samuel’s expulsion from the Congress and disqualification as an MLA. He also warned that the Congress party, which reportedly neglected temple development, would face repercussions in the upcoming GHMC elections.
