The city’s water board has taken strict action against unauthorized water connections, booking 19 individuals for illegally tapping pipelines in SR Nagar. Acting on the directives of MD Ashok Reddy, the board’s vigilance team discovered that residents of a local colony had connected to water pipelines without obtaining the necessary permissions. The violations came to light during ongoing GHMC road construction in the Tatikhana section under O&M Division No. 6.

The 19 individuals had bypassed official procedures, installing unauthorized connections to secure water supply for their homes.  Following the inspection, the vigilance team promptly removed the illegal taps and filed criminal cases against all offenders. Water board officials warned that anyone attempting to take water or sewerage connections without proper authorization will face strict legal action.
