In a major boost for regional connectivity, the Ministry of Railways has approved two key projects: a bus stand near Kazipet Railway Station and a new railway station at Bhupalpally, following strong efforts by Warangal MP Dr. Kadiyam Kavya.

The upcoming bus stand will be developed on railway land near Kazipet Station, which accounts for 48.6% of South Central Railway’s earnings. As part of the Multimodal Connectivity Initiative, this facility - identified during a January 2025 inspection - will improve last-mile connectivity, especially for rural and vulnerable commuters.

In a parallel development, the Railways Ministry has sanctioned a new station and railway line for Bhupalpally, which currently relies on trucks to transport coal from Singareni Collieries and TGGenco. This shift to rail is expected to reduce road accidents, pollution, and freight costs, while boosting passenger travel and economic activity. A feasibility study has been ordered, with a report due in six months.

These approvals have renewed calls for a dedicated Kazipet Railway Division, supported by Telangana CM Revanth Reddy, to ease Secunderabad’s congestion.

‘These projects will transform travel and trade,’ said Dr. Kavya, emphasizing their role in job creation, business growth, and Warangal’s emergence as a key connectivity hub.
