CARE Hospitals urges alertness to prostate cancer risk

Metro India News | Hyderabad : Prostate cancer can develop without noticeable symptoms in its early stages, making awareness of age, family history and individual risk particularly important for men over 50. During Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, doctors at CARE Hospitals are urging men not to wait for urinary problems to appear before discussing prostate health and appropriate evaluation with their doctor.  

Dr. P. Vamsi Krishna , Clinical Director, Sr. Consultant & Head – Urology, Robotic, Laparoscopy & Endourology Surgeon, CARE Hospitals mentioned that one of the biggest misconceptions is that prostate cancer will always cause urinary symptoms. “Early prostate cancer may cause no symptoms at all. Men should not wait for symptoms to become troublesome before discussing prostate health with their doctor,” he advised

Doctors emphasise, however, that urinary problems do not automatically mean prostate cancer and the absence of urinary symptoms does not rule out early disease. This Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, CARE Hospitals is reinforcing a simple message: prostate cancer may not give an early warning. Know your risk, do not ignore persistent changes and speak to your doctor about prostate health rather than waiting for symptoms to appear.
