Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has announced that the Congress government will use the data in the integrated household survey report in the policy formulation for the welfare of Scheduled Castes, scheduled Tribes , Backward classes and other weaker sections.
Responding to various questions in the Legislative Council after submitting the Integrated Household Survey report in the House on Tuesday, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the household survey report revealed that the BCs comprise 56.33 per cent of population in the State.
This statistical data will be used in implementation of reservations in the local body elections and for allocation of funds in the Budget, he said. This survey indicates beginning of new direction for governance based on integrity and transparency , he said. Elaborating further, Vikramarka said that in the coming days government will be doing many things based on the information available in the report.
“This survey is like a full body X ray check upon the living conditions of various categories of people in the State. The survey makes it clear that the government is committed to the development of Backward Classes in the State,” he said.
About 3.56 lakh people did not participate in the survey including persons like KCR, KTR, Harish Rao and Palla Rajeshwar Reddy. If they are interested in furnishing information now, government is ready to take those details, Vikramarka said.
Referring to BRS leaders’ comment that they had completed the household survey report on the same day in six hours, Vikramarka said that no one knew what did they do with the Survey report. "If the then TRS government had done it officially, they should have presented the report in Legislature or made a public statement about the survey report. As they did not do it, it has no sanctity to be called official document," he pointed out.
The Deputy Chief Minister reiterated that till now officially no scientific survey was taken up on caste census in Telangana. In fact this survey was the first such one in the history of Combined State itself, he pointed out.
"The resources in Telangana and the wealth would be utilised for development based on the Survey report. Those who are backward in the political, educational and economic spheres will be identified and the resources will be used for the progress of those sections," Bhatti said
