Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy on Monday said the Centre is fully committed to partnering with Telangana for its rapid development. Speaking at the Telangana Rising Global Summit, he described Hyderabad as a unique blend of “technology and tradition, science and spirituality,” and a key pillar of India’s economy.
Reddy said India has seen major transformation since 2014, citing poverty reduction, digital empowerment, infrastructure expansion and rapid startup growth. Calling Hyderabad an “IT hub, innovation corridor, pharmaceutical capital and aerospace tech centre,” he stressed that the city’s brand value must be strengthened collectively. India’s ambition to become a developed nation by 2047, he said, depends on strong Centre–state cooperation and healthy competition among states for investments. He highlighted that India received $748.78 billion in FDI from 2014 to 2025 — a 143% increase over the previous decade — driven by reforms that boosted transparency and investor confidence. He pointed to India becoming the world’s second-largest mobile phone manufacturer, a rise in defence exports from Rs. 686 crore to Rs. 23,622 crore, and a doubling of airports to 160.
The Minister said the Centre has provided Telangana with over Rs. 10 lakh crore since 2014 through taxes, grants and central schemes. Major projects include Rs. 1.5 lakh crore for National Highways, Rs. 32,000 crore for rail works, Rs. 2,500 crore for redevelopment of 42 railway stations, and the near-completion of the Kazipet Rail Coach Factory. He also noted the 1,600 MW NTPC Ramagundam project and plans for a new 2,400 MW plant.
Reddy said the PM Mitra Textile Park in Warangal is expected to create one lakh jobs, while the Zaheerabad Industrial Corridor is progressing with an investment of Rs. 2,300 crore. Institutions such as AIIMS Bibinagar, IIT Hyderabad, DRDO, HAL, BDL and MIDHANI are further strengthening the state’s economic base.
