As many as 215 children were rescued during a week-long special safety drive aimed at strengthening the protection of women and children across the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate. The special drive was conducted from January 3 to January 9, 2026, under the supervision of DCP Srujana Karanam, as part of intensified enforcement and awareness measures.
Under Operation Smile–XII, the Cyberabad Anti-Human Trafficking Unit conducted special raids in various locations, registering 49 cases under the Juvenile Justice Act. During these operations, 200 boys and 15 girls were successfully rescued from vulnerable situations and shifted to safe care facilities for further rehabilitation.
Meanwhile, Cyberabad She Teams carried out 127 decoy operations during the week to curb harassment in public places. A total of 59 persons were caught red-handed for indecent behaviour towards women. Police booked 63 petty cases, while the remaining offenders were counselled on appropriate conduct. The She Teams also received and addressed 17 complaints from women during the same period.
Family Counselling Centres and CDEW centres played a crucial role in resolving domestic disputes. Through sustained counselling efforts, 31 families were reunited, restoring stability and harmony in their households.
In addition, awareness programmes were conducted on issues such as human and child trafficking, child labour, child marriages, stalking, cyber fraud and online harassment. Overall, 6,615 people were sensitised, with police also promoting the use of helplines 181, 1098, Dial 100 and cybercrime helpline 1930 for emergency support.
