Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to ensure that no part of the state faces drinking water shortages during the summer. Emphasizing the need for proactive measures, he instructed officials to implement necessary actions to address potential water crisis. On Monday, CM Naidu conducted a comprehensive review meeting at the Secretariat on the state's summer preparedness, particularly focusing on the departments of Disaster Management, Panchayati Raj, Municipal Administration, and Health.
CM Naidu instructed the Disaster Management authorities to continuously monitor temperature variations and disseminate heatwave alerts to the public via mobile notifications. He stressed that timely information and awareness could help prevent heat-related casualties. The Chief Minister also directed officials to set up drinking water and buttermilk distribution centers in public areas such as markets, bus stands, and labor gathering spots.
Additionally, he encouraged voluntary organizations to participate in establishing these facilities, with government support where necessary. Highlighting the importance of livestock welfare, CM Naidu acknowledged potential water shortages in Rayalaseema and Prakasam districts. To address this, the government has allocated Rs. 35 crore for the construction of 12,138 water pits across villages.
He emphasized that the state government remains committed to ensuring adequate water supply for both humans and animals during the summer. The Chief Minister also mandated the implementation of a Water Bell system in schools to ensure students remain hydrated throughout the day. He stressed the importance of maintaining an uninterrupted supply of drinking water in educational institutions.

To resolve municipal water supply issues, CM Naidu approved the release of Rs. 39 crore for necessary interventions. He also instructed officials to enhance water conservation efforts through the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) by constructing farm ponds and undertaking desilting activities in reservoirs.
Recognizing the impact of extreme summer temperatures on laborers, CM Naidu ordered that MGNREGA workers should complete their tasks between 6 AM and 11 AM to avoid peak heat hours. Additionally, ORS (Oral Rehydration Solution) packets will be made available at workplaces, and municipal sanitation workers will be restricted from working outdoors between 12 PM and 4 PM. Furthermore, the Chief Minister emphasized that hospitals should be fully equipped with sufficient beds, doctors, and facilities to treat heat stroke cases. He also directed immediate implementation of mosquito control measures in remote tribal regions to prevent disease outbreaks.
