The Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of lacking the courage and decisiveness required during times of national crisis. The CM’s remarks were made in the backdrop of “Operation Sindoor” and have ignited intense political discourse.
The Jai Hind Yatra, spearheaded by the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) under the All India Congress Committee’s (AICC) direction, commenced from VNR Vignana Jyothi Engineering College in Bachupally and culminated at the KGR Convention Centre on Thursday evening. A massive public meeting was conducted at Nizampet’s Kolanu Gopal Reddy Convention as part of the rally’s conclusion.
In a fiery address, Revanth Reddy alleged that the Modi-led government abruptly halted military action against Pakistan under foreign pressure, particularly from former U.S. President Donald Trump. He criticized the Centre for failing to consult opposition leaders before making critical decisions on national security and questioned why an all-party consensus was not sought before announcing a ceasefire.
Drawing parallels with former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s fearless leadership during the 1971 India-Pakistan war, CM Reddy hailed her for standing firm against U.S. pressure and decisively leading the nation. “Indiramma had the courage to split Pakistan into two. Today, Modi lacks that strength,” he said, adding that “national security cannot be mortgaged to Trump’s diplomacy.”
The Chief Minister also referred to Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge’s participation in the all-party meeting, where they extended full support to the Centre for military action. However, he expressed deep disappointment at the Modi government's sudden withdrawal from conflict after only four days of engagement.
“Only a leader with courage in his heart can lead a nation through war,” CM Reddy stated. He questioned the silence of the Modi government when Indian Army officer Colonel Santosh was killed by Chinese forces, accusing it of inaction in the face of Chinese aggression.
Highlighting the historical role of the Congress in safeguarding national interests, CM Reddy said, “While the BJP conducts Tiranga rallies, Congress launches the Jai Hind Yatra to inspire confidence in our soldiers and uphold national integrity.”
Revanth said, “Modi is a spent force. India now needs a courageous, visionary leader like Rahul Gandhi. Until Rahul becomes Prime Minister, our fight will not rest.” The rally witnessed participation from TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud, AICC In-Charge Meenakshi Natarajan, ministers, MLAs, MPs, MLCs, senior Congress leaders, and thousands of party workers.
