In a significant boost to Andhra Pradesh’s infrastructure, the Union Cabinet has approved the construction of a new four-lane national highway from Badvel to Guruvindapudi at a cost of Rs. 3,653 crore. The announcement was met with gratitude by Union Minister of Civil Aviation Ram Mohan Naidu, who personally thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi during their meeting in Patna on Wednesday.

The proposed highway, which will stretch over 108 km, will connect NH-67 (Badvel) to NH-16 (Guruvindapudi), dramatically improving road connectivity in the region. Officials stated that the corridor will cut the travel distance to Krishnapatnam Port by half and link three key industrial corridors within the state. The project is also expected to generate approximately 43 lakh man-days of employment.

“This decision reflects the Prime Minister’s commitment to the development of Andhra Pradesh,” said Ram Mohan Naidu. “It is a testament to the Centre’s resolve to equip our state with world-class infrastructure.”

The approval was announced on the sidelines of the inauguration of the new terminal at Patna airport, where Naidu joined PM Modi and other dignitaries.
