Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s visit to New Delhi featured high-level meetings aimed at securing support for the state’s pressing issues. From discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to tributes to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Naidu’s schedule underscored his strategic intent.
Naidu participated in a pivotal meeting of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders at BJP National President J.P. Nadda’s residence, chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The agenda included political developments, upcoming state assembly elections, and central schemes’ implementation. Key topics discussed were Amit Shah’s remarks on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the Jamili Election Bill, the Waqf Act Amendment Bill, and seat-sharing arrangements for elections.
In his meeting with PM Modi, Naidu raised issues critical to Andhra Pradesh, emphasizing financial support for Amaravati’s construction and the Polavaram project. He requested expedited financial assistance of ₹15,000 crore for Amaravati and urged prioritization of the state’s needs in the upcoming Union Budget. Naidu also invited the Prime Minister to the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the Visakhapatnam Railway Zone and discussed approving flood cess for disaster mitigation and new project funding.
Beyond the PM, Naidu met Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President J.P. Nadda, and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. Discussions included Amaravati’s development, industrial projects, and long-term solutions for the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. Rail connectivity improvements, new rail lines, and operationalization of the Visakhapatnam Railway Zone were also key topics.
In a meeting with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Naidu emphasized funding for Amaravati and Polavaram, advocating timely release of funds for infrastructure and disaster mitigation. The visit also included a tribute to former Prime Minister Vajpayee on his 100th birth anniversary at the “Sadaiv Atal” memorial, where Naidu joined senior BJP leaders to honor Vajpayee’s legacy.
