Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Wednesday directed officials to intensify revenue mobilisation, saying achieving the State Budget targets would require a focused, coordinated and result-oriented approach across departments. Chairing a high-level review meeting on resource mobilisation at the MCRHRD, he said revenue generation must remain a top priority to ensure timely implementation of the government's welfare and development programmes.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Ministers N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and Jupally Krishna Rao, Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju, Adviser Ramakrishna Rao and senior officials.

Reviewing the performance of revenue-generating departments, the Chief Minister instructed officials to step up collections in line with budget estimates. He specifically asked the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and the Telangana Government Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) to strengthen revenue generation and make a larger contribution to the State's finances.

Revanth Reddy directed departments such as Commercial Taxes, Excise and Mining to plug revenue leakages through strict monitoring and enforcement. He also called for setting up a dedicated chasing cell to track pending revenues and ensure continuous follow-up for better collections.

Stressing the need for administrative reforms, he asked departments to improve institutional capacity and efficiency. He also directed officials to leverage Artificial Intelligence and integrate beneficiary databases with the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system to enhance transparency, eliminate duplication and improve welfare delivery.

The Chief Minister instructed departments to prepare budgets based on realistic financial projections rather than inflated estimates, while ensuring adequate allocations for completing pending infrastructure and ongoing projects.

Emphasising that timely land acquisition is critical for development works, Revanth Reddy said it should receive the highest priority. Assuring full government support to departments in improving revenue mobilisation, he warned that negligence in achieving collection targets would not be tolerated.
