District Collector K. Haritha on Monday called upon women's Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to play an active role in implementing the government's development and welfare initiatives. She said SHGs should serve as key partners in creating public awareness about various government schemes while contributing to social and community development activities.

Addressing officials and SHG representatives, the Collector urged the women's groups to complete the stitching of school uniforms for students within the stipulated deadline. Earlier, during the Prajavani public grievance program, K. Haritha received petitions from members of the public relating to land disputes, pensions, employee transfers, compensation, and other issues. She directed officials to resolve all grievances without delay and emphasized that applications received through Prajavani should not remain pending.

Reviewing the ongoing Special Summary Revision of the Electoral Roll with Tahsildars and Booth Level Officers (BLOs), the Collector directed officials to expedite the distribution and collection of Enumeration Forms. She stressed the importance of preparing an error-free electoral roll by ensuring accurate verification and timely completion of the exercise. The Collector also reviewed the disposal of revenue-related applications and the progress of T-Fiber works in the district, issuing necessary instructions to officials for expediting the pending tasks and ensuring effective implementation.

In another program, K. Haritha flagged off a bus carrying 45 selected youth who will undergo a three-month free skill development training program being conducted under the aegis of the GMR Varalakshmi Foundation. She encouraged the participants to make the best use of the training to improve their employability and secure better career opportunities.
