Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar announced a new initiative to ensure the health and welfare of police personnel, stating that medical examinations will be conducted for all staff within the Commissionerate limits. Individual ‘health profiles’ will be prepared, and personnel will be categorised into A, B, C, D, and E categories to receive care and treatment tailored to their health conditions.
On Republic Day, Sajjanar unfurled the national flag at the City Armed Reserve (CAR) Headquarters in Petla Buruju and received a guard of honour. He lauded police personnel for their dedication during festivals and major security operations, highlighting their commitment to public safety.
Sajjanar emphasised strengthening the H-New department to combat drug abuse and urged the youth to avoid addiction. He also announced the formation of special teams in collaboration with food safety officials to tackle food adulteration, which threatens public health.
The Commissioner stressed the importance of public cooperation in maintaining law and order, urged citizens not to trust social media rumours, and encouraged reporting of incidents via Dial 100.
He expressed condolences to families affected by the recent Nampally furniture shop fire and commended the bravery of Dinesh, Mohammad Zakir, Kaleem, Rahim, and Amar, as well as corporators Surekha Om Prakash and Zafar Khan, for their prompt response. Dinesh from Afzal Gunj was specially felicitated for his courage.
Sajjanar highlighted that the incident reaffirmed Hyderabad’s legacy of communal harmony, stating that during times of crisis, people came together, exemplifying the city’s Ganga-Jamuna Tehzeeb culture.
