Minister for Irrigation and Civil Supplies Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has expressed strong optimism about the Congress party's political prospects in Telangana, declaring that the party era in Telangana that commenced in 2024 in the state will continue till 2034. Addressing a massive gathering of Congress workers, leaders and loyalists in Suryapet, Uttam Kumar Reddy said the party was steadily strengthening its support base across Telangana and was poised for an overwhelming comeback in the years ahead.
The meeting was organised as part of the Congress party's preparations for the forthcoming Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates' Constituency election to the Legislative Council, in which Ramreddy Savotham Reddy is the party's nominee.
Attributing the growing support for the Congress to its welfare-oriented governance, Uttam said the government's initiatives were making a tangible difference in people's lives. The distribution of fine-quality Sanna Biyyam to eligible families, he said, was among the landmark programmes that had enhanced food security and brought dignity to economically weaker households.
He also highlighted the government's achievements in agriculture, particularly the impressive paddy production recorded despite irrigation challenges and concerns surrounding the Kaleshwaram project.
Referring to the challenges posed by El Niño and the emerging agricultural situation, the Minister said the government was taking necessary measures to protect farmers and address water-related concerns.
He called upon party workers and loyalists to remain united and actively participate in the political mobilisation ahead of the Graduates' MLC election, describing it as an important opportunity for the Congress to demonstrate its organisational strength.
The Minister appealed to the graduates across the three districts to extend their support to the party nominee and ensure his victory.
