Telangana BJP state president N. Ramchander Rao on Friday launched a scathing attack on the Congress, accusing it of using N. T. Rama Rao’s legacy for vote-bank politics ahead of GHMC elections.
Addressing BJP’s Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Prashikshan Abhiyan in Suryapet, Rao said Congress has “no moral right” to speak about NTR, who he claimed was among the first leaders to call for a “Congress-mukt Bharat.”
Rao alleged that Congress was trying to woo Andhra voters in Hyderabad while continuing “appeasement politics.” He also targeted Rahul Gandhi over OBC representation, claiming Congress removed its only OBC chief minister despite speaking about backward class politics.
Calling Congress a “commission-driven party,” the BJP state chief accused the Telangana government of failing farmers in paddy procurement and forcing them to sell crops below MSP. He said BJP’s “Rythu Gosa–BJP Bharosa" campaign compelled the government to respond to farmers’ concerns.
BJP is rapidly expanding with eight MPs and eight MLAs, the party would form the next government in the state under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi.
