Cyberabad Police invoke PD act against repeated offender

Hyderabad: In a move to curb rising criminal activity, the Cyberabad Police Commissioner invoked the Preventive Detention (PD) Act against Thanugundla Bala Showreddy alias Badsha (21), a known rowdy sheeter from Jagadgirigutta. Police records reveal that between 2023 and 2025, Bala Showreddy was involved in two attempted murders and one daylight killing. On November 5, 2025, he and his associates killed by stabbing Roshan Kumar Singh at a busy bus stop in Jagadgirigutta. Citing the need to maintain public order and prevent further offences, authorities have now detained him under the PD Act.
